Teighan Couch, a leading professional female jazz vocalist, composer, songwriter, arranger, performer, and educator offers unparalleled expertise with 10 years of experience in many facets of musicianship. She excels in sharing that experience and knowledge with students of all ages and levels. Teighan first began music lessons as a violinist at the age of six but moved over to vocals at the age of 18. In 2016 she graduated with honours from the Music Industry Arts Program at Algonquin College in Ottawa, Ontario. While studying at university she was a three time recipient of the Burgundy Scholarship Fund and in the spring of 2023 she received her Bachelor’s in Music in Jazz Studies from Vancouver Island University.
Since graduating, Teighan has been invited to present workshops to music students at Vancouver Island University and offers instruction in vocal technique, music theory, improvisation, song writing, arranging, composing and performance.
In the future, with interest expressed by students, she would love to facilitate the formation of jazz combos and choirs and get them performing together in the community!
Whether you are just starting out, seeking to broaden your already existing skills or reignite your flame with music, Teighan offers lessons both online and in-person and is eager to help others on their musical journey!
